Monsieur Souris and a very helpful book to have | |
Hello and welcome to our travel blog. Monsieur Souris (aka Mr. Mouse) and I are going to share our summer adventures with you as we travel throughout France and other parts of Europe. We have been a little slow getting this blog up due to technology issues, but now we are up and running and ready to let you know what we have been up to!
Monsieur Souris and I take the little book shown above with us everywhere. I use it in the grocery store to help decipher what the food labels mean (its not always clear what a can, box, or bottle contains), then I have to use it to translate the directions on how to prepare the foods purchased. So far all of the dinners have had happy outcomes and we are feeling more secure with each meal we make. The salsa we bought at the Simply Market wasn't made in New York City -- it was made in Belgium! :)

GPS loaded with European maps before leaving the U.S. |
We have been to Geneva, Switzerland and had an interesting time there.
Lots of traffic there with a few new interesting twists -- lights change from red to yellow to green to red -- yellow means get ready to go, not get ready to stop. How fun! Getting around is very challenging with all of the one-way streets, electric trains, and buses. Luckily we had help.
Here are some of the things we saw while we were in Geneva:
Monsieur Souris at the United Nations in Geneva |
The Museum of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent (Croix Rouge) |
At the Reformation Museum |
hand feeding sparrows in the park |
Spotted on a wall in Geneva (for all the Florida folks) |
Monsieur Souris at Tutti Frutti (an Italian Restaurant) -- Is this a critique of the meal, Monsieur Souris? |
Some of the alps through the window . . . |
so pretty to see . . . |
so many mountains! |
